Olhao old facade

PORTUGAL
The location - the old port of Olhao, east of Faro in Portugal. Set in the heart of Olhao's protected historic area one can find the Olhao Art School, a purpose-built development and the brainchild of our host David. Just 30 minutes from easily accessible Faro this beautifully renovated set of adjoining properties is an ideal location for a painting holiday. With vaulted ceilings, Roman brick work, three courtyards and an olive tree (believed to be over 150 years old), the school has been restored offering an exceptional space for artistic creativity.

There is something romantic about the building with the beautiful light outside filtering through from the large windows and courtyards adding to it’s charm. There is an abundance of old features and is a fantastic place to gather inspiration. The Art School can comfortably accommodate up to 10 artists and a teacher. Cost £695

Superp food and accommodation in a series of gites the couple have painstakingly renovated. Great views of the snow capped mountains, ancient villages and towns, vibrant markets to name but a few attactions to this location.

ITALY
Podernovo farmhouse is the oldest on the San Fabiano country estate, dating back to 1750. Beautifully restored, it has every amenity. Filippo and Rachel Fiorentini invite you to their San Sabriano Agriturisme in the heart of the Tuscan countryside located 12km south of Sienna.

Dolcheaqua view

Also-Nestling in the hills above the medieval town of Dolceacqua in western Liguria, north west Italy, less than half an hour from the sea and from the French border, in the foothills of the Ligurian Alps is the enchanting Villatalla Guest House. Why not consider joining me there with hosts Roger and Marina possibly in May when the Riviera is in full bloom and at its most colourful.

Italy Villa

Close to the fabulous coastal resorts of the Italian Riviera and the French Cote d'Azur (also Monte Carlo), the pretty perched villages in the mountains, and the famous mountain walking trail known as the Alta Via, a walker's paradise, immersed in nature, with stunning views of mountains and valleys. Typical cost circa £870

Sardinia pupils

They choose the best times for you to visit: autumn, spring, and even mid-winter, where the average temperature by day can still be very mild, and the crowds of mass tourists have left, allowing us to enjoy the warm sunshine, the miles of unspoilt coastline, the rugged countryside and the picturesque villages in peace and tranquility. Typical cost circa £900
