Started by Alwyn Crawshaw, this society has members world-wide numbering some 42,000. I am a Promoter for the SAA and Professional Associate member and have a spot on their web site and in their Artists Directory. I also advertise my workshops in their magazine "Paint" with some success. My professional indemnity insurance also comes via my "Gold" membership with them. A useful ally in the art world I have found.
Villatalla
Following a meeting up with artist Sue Deighton at the above location she introduced me to Villatalla. Roger and Marina have a well established art holiday venue in North west Italy where I tutored in May/June 2010 - we sold out all the places for 2010 and have new dates for May 2011 - see the Painting Holidays.
Art in the Algarve
Following a brief visit whilst on holiday in the region in 2009, I have persevered with Camilla and father David Gray to tutor a week this September 2010. I have also been given a week next year at a similar time. David has spent months renovating these lovely properties in Olhao a port to the east of Faro with a purpose built studio for us to work in as well as the lovely old town and its surrounds.

Manzac d'en Bas
Following an approach via the Society for All Artists (SAA) and several email's later, I did a week's holiday with hosts Giles and Louise in the Pyrennes foothills in June 2009. They are keen to build an alternative holiday based around art and have several tutors booked for 2010. Please visit their web site as this develops and why not join me in 2011.

Bawdsey Manor
A successful workshop partner - this time residential, mainly weekends currently envisaged. Workshops planned for May and September 2010 - see painting workshops their website gives much more information and history about this rather unique location on the North Sea Suffolk/Essex borders.
On-line Gallery
Web gallery run by art supplier Ken Bromley. Art supplies at discounted prices from www.artsupplies.co.uk . I buy much of my paper and pastels for workshops from this company. The web gallery was a new venture started in 2005.
Essex Wildlife Trust
My workshop partner for a number of years now. All fees are split between the Trust and myself. My wife, Jan and I have been members of this worthwhile cause for many years supporting the protection of the countryside of Essex in its wilder form.

Foundation for Essex Arts (was Essex Gallery)
I am the project manager and now a director for a group originally called the Commission for an Essex Gallery. We are a project team, all volunteers, who are spearheading, on behalf of all Essex-based artists, the development of a gallery in Essex for Essex Artists.

Brentwood Art Society
I have been a member of this local group for a number of years. They are always on the look out for new members. I became Treasurer in 2009.

Southend Art Society
I became a member of this group as a direct result of my workshops on their farm and the demonstrations i have done for them. They are a large group, affiliated to the SAA and I believe there is a waiting list to join.
